PVAAS DATA
DASD PVAAS OVERVIEW
-
An analysis of PA Department of Education's Student Testing Data for DASD, particularly in our 4-8 grade cohorts, has revealed disturbing information about the effectiveness of the educational and curriculum related policies set by the current School Board.
-
The data indicates 20% drop over a two year period in Proficient and Advanced scores in the 4-6 cohort.
-
Pa Dept. of Ed data reveals that, from 2019-2022, Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center students fell "Well Below" expected standards of growth in Math, LA, and Science based upon students' prior testing history.
-
PA Dept. of Ed's 2022 measurement of academic progress and expected growth outcomes of 4th and 5th graders in the following DASD elementary schools are "Well Below" average in LA, Math, and/or Science:

-
Bradford Heights
-
Brandywine Wallace
-
East Ward
-
Springton Manor
-
Uwchlan Hills

-
PA Dept. of Ed. states that "growth is critical to ensuring a student's future academic success." By PA Dept. of Ed's "Growth Measures," Lionville Middle School students tested "Well Below" their PA peers in 2022, indicating that DASD's curriculum choices are not meeting the rigor required by the state as the testing data: "measures the effectiveness of curriculum and instructional practices" that are set by the Board.
-
Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center and Downingtown Middle School are currently flagged by the PA Dept. of Ed for NOT meeting "Growth Benchmarks" for several cohorts of students.
